Hillburn is a village located in the town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York. It is located along the border of New Jersey and is about 30 miles away from New York City. The zip code of Hillburn is 10931.
Hillburn is one of the remote and isolated communities of Rockland County, as it’s surrounded by the beautiful Ramapo Mountains. Hillburn is mostly a residential community with a small network of a few streets located right along Interstate-87 (Exits 15 &15A) route 59 and route 17. The village is also surrounded by Harriman State Park, and is only minutes away from multiple lakes such as Lake Sebago and Lake Welch which include man made beaches.
Hillburn is served by the excellent Ramapo Central School District and is home to the district’s administration office. Additionally, Hillburn is home to the Joseph St. Lawrence Community Center, which includes an 1,800 capacity stadium and a large indoor facility with multiple courts for tennis, basketball, volleyball and a fitness gym. The center is named after the town supervisor and is a major venue in the town of Ramapo.
Situated on a mountain overlooking Hillburn, the thruway and surrounding areas is a Japanese restaurant which has perhaps become a landmark of the village.
